Cancellation & refund policy
How advances, cancellations and refunds work for houseboats, day cruises, taxis and homestays booked with Elixir Voyage Holidays.

Advance payment
- We confirm your dates and price with you on WhatsApp first. Then we send you a secure payment link for the advance.
- Houseboats: the advance is 40% of the total or ₹6,000, whichever is lower.
- Day cruises, taxis and homestays: the advance is the amount shown on your payment link.
- Your receipt shows the service, the date, the advance paid and the total price.
- Your booking is confirmed once the advance is paid.
Balance payment
The balance is paid directly to the houseboat owner or crew at boarding, or to the driver or host when your service starts, by cash or UPI.
If you cancel
- 14 days or more before the service date: full refund of the advance.
- Less than 14 days before, or no-show: no refund.
- A change of plans within 14 days of the service date is treated as a cancellation, so no refund is issued.
- If you book less than 14 days before the service date, the advance is non-refundable from the time you pay.
To cancel, message us on WhatsApp at +91 98474 29929. The date and time of your message counts as the cancellation date.
If the service does not start
If your houseboat, cruise, taxi or stay does not start at all because of a problem on our side, such as a boat breakdown, or because of monsoon weather, flooding or an order from the authorities, you get a full refund of the advance.
Once the service has started
Once you have boarded, been picked up or checked in, the advance is not refundable.
- Late arrival: if you board or check in late, the service still ends at the agreed time, with no refund.
- Problems during the service: if the trip is cut short by rain, or there is a problem such as the air conditioning not working or a power failure, a partial refund may be agreed with the boat owner, driver or host at the time. It is adjusted from the balance, not from the advance.
How refunds are paid
Refunds are made within 7 days to the original payment method (the same card, UPI or bank account). Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
